The VR Cinema

VR Cinema, is a great new concept in immersive entertainment.
Wearing a VR head set developed a company called Oculus in tandem with a Samsung G7 smart phone.
My son and I were able to experience a number of short films and animations for 30 minutes. There is a program for Adults and one for kids, so something for young and old alike.
My son and I sat in a room over looking Amsterdam's dynamic new habourside, along with a small group of 10 people. Unlike in a regular Cinema set up, the seats were all moveable so that we could move our bodies as we navigated the VR environment.
Attendants where on hand to adjust our headphones and help focus the headset so we all received a sharp image from the device.
Then the program started, I must say it was such a strange feeling to be literally in the movie. So as you turn your head the whole environment turns with you. The most amazing and thrilling section of the program was as you start to fly around in the movie. And I can imagine if you spent too much time using the device, it could become a bit disorientating.
This is really the next level in terms of audio visual entertainment.
All in all a very interesting and engaging sensation. And really worth checking out if you have never tried VR before or if you are planning to invest in the technology for home use.
The VR Cinema is a concept by & Samhoud media and they are run as Pop up experiences across Europe.
