STELLA MCCARTNEY TO MOVE
INTO MENSWEAR
Stella McCartney is working on a menswear collection that will launch in June for the spring/summer 2017 season, according to reports this morning.
It will be the first new line for the eponymous label since 2010, when it launched its childrenswear collection. The move follows a trend started by the likes of Marni and Carven, who have both recently ramped up their menswear offering.
In fact, McCartney will be returning to her roots: the designer spent her early career working for her father's tailor Edward Sexton on Savile Row, before being appointed creative director of Chloé in 1997. She launched her own label in 2001.
It is still unconfirmed as to which city the collection will show in, but we anticipate that the signature Stella McCartney look–of relaxed tailoring and easy-to-wear separates–will translate beautifully into a modern menswear line.
