Davidoff Cigar shop Amsterdam
As you all know cigars are one of my guilty pleasures. And living in Amsterdam has afforded me lots of opportunities to indulge in them. But at the same time, venues for smoking said articles are rather limited , due to the rolling legislation against tobacco. So I was pleasantly surprised to hear from the manger a the Davidoff shop on Amsterdam ' s uber posh Museum Plein. That the shop would be moving to a modern new venue with a hip smoking area above the shop with commanding views of the world famous Stedelijk Museum in all its modernism glory. And as we are on the subject of modernity the interior of the new shop, only two doors away from the old. Shines with all the sparkle of a new penny.
Glass and wood paneling abound but in a very tasteful way. The colour plate used is a again traditional with a a contemporary twist. The layout of the shop makes best use of the abundances of light entering the building from the floor to ceiling main window, that extents all the way up to the smoking lounge on the upper floor.
Which is furnished with comfortable leather easy chairs at the right height to make use of the beautiful white Davidoff ashtrays. Small metal tables clad in tones of copper and Matt black are the other elements in play .
And for those in your encourage worry about the cigar smoke. They have installed one of the best air conditioning and air filtering systems I have ever seen in a smoking room.
So I think I can safely say that I have found my Sunday afternoon spot!
