The Opening of the second Student Hotel
in Amsterdam
The opening of the new Student Hotel was as unconventional as the concept itself is.
A festival of talks and exchange of ideas and experience was the theme of the daytime program of events.
So they're were TED style talks on the Arts and creativity, personal struggle and business opportunities.
This all fits with the ethos of the Student Hotel and that is "Connecting people".
This a concept that has taken to year to grow and develop. I spoke to the CEO of the company Charlie MacGregor and he told me since the company's first Hotel in West of Amsterdam, they have gain a lot of experience from it. Along with feedback from his guests.
So with that in mind, we now how three typical residents of the Hotel. The first group of residents are of course the students. That can rent a room with or without cooking facilities. For the whole of their term time. The second group are the short to mid stay residents this tend to mostly be business travelers that are attracted by the hip vibe of the hotel and the neighborhood.
And the last group are the short stay tourist, who are on holiday and are looking for a hotel with something a bit different.
Amsterdam is just one of a number of very ambitious expansion plans the company has.
So don't be surprised if you see a Student hotel pop in up near you sometime.
