Dewar's Whisky
Life is about challenges and pleasures.
The key to a happy life is rooted in how we deal with the challenges and how we enjoy the pleasures.
I was happy to be able to enjoy the pleasures of a fine whisky. It's self born out of many challenges over it's more than 160 year history.
I always have always thought of whisky in terms of single malt or single grain. But that is only part of the story when it comes to Scotch Whisky, the tradition of blended whisky in fact pre-dates the single malt as a finished product in its own right.
And the people at Dewar's are the best example of this skill of the blended whisky, but to give their products true character they leave it to age in the same way you would a fine wine. This is what makes them stand out from the crowd. So much so it is the most honoured spirit in the world, with first being honoured but Queen Victoria with a Royal warrant to the many world's fairs throughout the late nineteenth century and beyond.
But to the real pleasure, the liquid it's self. I found it superior to a great many single malts I have drunk. The blended heritage of the product, adds so much different combinations of hard and soft flavors, rich and sweet, dark and smoky, but always a smooth ending.
Dewar's White label and Dewar's 12 year's aged were the whiskies I tried and enjoyed the pleasure.
